Guild Rules
1) General Guild Rules
Every member of The Squishies is expected to read these rules, understand them and be aware of them during their time in game.
Mutual respect is very important in a closed guild structure. Be civilised with other people and they will be civilised to you.
What you do and/or say with the guild tag on you, reflects us all. It can be argued that the guild’s image is equal to it’s most vocal yet least civilised member. If you are angry or frustrated, think about this before you decide to put up a public scene.
Helping one another is one of the core reasons to be in a guild and is appreciated. However, nobody is ever entitled to help whenever they feel they need it. Receiving assistance on anything is a service. Be courteous when you receive it and respect the one helping you by helping another when you are in the position to do so.
No begging, period! Be it in guild chat, general chat, vicinity or any other channel/situation. It’s not done.
If you are idle for more than 2 months, you will be kicked from the guild. But ofcourse if you come back later, you can re-apply.
Guild Channel Rules
Crying for nerfs or any class whines (unless meant in a light hearted matter) will not be tolerated. Warning.
Deliberate destruction of a guild members confidence and or personality will under no measure be tolerated, how well based this may be (take it up in private with the guild spokes person if you have a problem with anybody). Serious Warning.
We all enjoy playing our classes for our various reasons. Verbally destroying that class can upset people, so it’s not allowed. Warning.
A guild channel is a chat channel like every other. Just remember that not everybody has a private screen for it. What to an idling person may simply be a conversation, might be considered annoying spam to somebody playing. Feel free to talk about any (civilised) subject on the guild channel, but don’t exaggerate. If you scroll up and the last 3 screens were all messages by you, you’re probably exaggerating (or talking to an empty channel).
When multiple nationalities are on line, speaking English is MANDATORY in guild chat. If you are exclusively on with those that speak your native language, feel free to ramble in that language.
The Squishies is aimed towards mature people. Mature people don’t need any form of profanity or foul language to get their point across. We kindly request you don’t use them to often. There are no repercussions when you do use them as long as it stays civilised. You can always have the filters up if you don’t want to see them. Deliberately avoiding the filter (like Sh1t) is frowned upon. Type the word you want to type so the people who have their filters up, won’t be bothered by them.
No discrimination of any kind is allowed in the guild channel. Even if it’s meant jokingly. You never know how people may react to that type of joke and it’s best to avoid those type of problems.
Selling items between guildies through the guild channel is illegal and will result in a warning.
When you disagree with somebody, bring arguments to support your case and keep the discussion civilised. “Omgwtf I pwnz j00 n00b” or any possible variation in flame style is not considered civilised.
3) Respect the Guild Hierarchy!
All decisions that concern the entire guild and all of it’s members will be voted on by all active members.
Minor decisions that are made to benefit the organisation and workings of the guild’s management will taken by officers or the Guild Master directly. When necessary, the members will be informed of these minor changes/adjustments through an announcement on the guild forum.
When a guild raid or party takes place, the raid leader will be the highest ranking guild member by default, unless that officer decides to delegate this position.
When after the initiate period somebody is accepted as a permanent part of the guild, that person will become full member. This will allow that person to access the forums and vote on future members.
Officers and the Guild Master have the prerogative to suggest a member for promotion to veteran. Being a veteran comes with added responsibilities. In The Squishies, Veterans do outrank Members.
If you decide to leave The Squishies, you are of course at all times free to do so. However, we have a no-return policy in place. If you leave, it’s final unless you can persuade an officer to re-sponsor you (which will not happen on a regular bases).
4) Loot & Stuff
No ninja looting, no greed looting and no grief looting! When a supposed ninja loot can’t be verified, you’ll get a (final) warning, if it can be verified through at least 2 separate and unbiased sources, it’s exit. Excuses like “sorry I didn’t know I was supposed to pass, this is my first raid” may have worked in The Deadmines, but in high end instances it’s your own fault for not knowing the rules. Would a police officer be lenient if you said to him you didn’t know you weren’t supposed to run the red light?
Rolling greed on an item you were supposed to pass on is considered ninja looting.
Rolling need on an item you were supposed to pass on is considered ninja looting.
Picking up an item which is still being disputed is considered ninja looting.
Rolling need on an item clearly not intended for your class is considered ninja looting.
Within guild groups the following loot rules are always applicable.
4a) Guild Raid/Party Code of Conduct
No Master Looter(ML)/General:
Everyone passes on all BoP items. (when no ML is appointed)
Everyone rolls on BoE greens. (when no ML is appointed)
Everyone passes on all Blue or better items. (when no ML is appointed)
Master Looter:
When we use a Master Looter (ML), he Looter will allocate the item to the winner.
In case of absence of a Master Looter, only pick up the item after the raid leader declares you have won the roll!
Alts/other guild members are on a secondary need within guild raids. When nobody in the raid wants a specific (BoE) item, it can be rolled for an alt or for somebody else in the guild.
If you need an item to vendor because you’re seriously broke, let us know so we can move some vendor trash towards you. The items rarely sell for more than their dis-items would.
Tradeskills are always on a tertiary need within guild raids. When nobody needs an item for himself and nobody else in the guild needs that item (in case of a BoE), the default action is that this item will be disenchanted. The resulting shards, dusts and essences will be moved to the guild bank where anyone who needs it can reserve an item. When somebody directly needs a specific item from the disenchant, it can be discussed.
If nobody claims need on an item, a designated disenchanter (usually the highest ranking disenchanter within the raid) will loot the item and disenchant it on the spot. The materials will either be sent to the guild bank, or rolled if (multiple) people claim need on the shards/essences/dust.
If no disenchanter is present and nobody claims need on the item, the item is rolled Free For All.
When the guild stumbles on a chest, only the content is considered. When needed, a rogue will pick the lock and see what's inside. If the chest isn't locked, the Master Looter opens it. The content of the chest is rolled on in accordance to abovementioned guide lines.
4b) P.U.G. Raid/Party Code of Conduct
Always make sure you are aware of the going loot rules.
Remember that you are a member of a serious guild and (possibly) bad actions you take might have negative repercussions within the guild.
Always be civil and always use your head. Roll “need” only on those items you can and want to use.
When you win a standard roll on a green BoE and somebody in your raid would like to have it because it’s an improvement for that person. You will give the item to that person.
If somebody rolls on an item you wanted as well and wins, be courteous, congratulate that person and try again. Under no circumstances use the losing of a roll to make a scene. Have a cup of tea and chill out if you feel you need it.
If you want a guildy to have something, give it to that person! When another guildy has something you want (and that guildy wants to part with it) you would enjoy the same treatment. A good friend is worth more than 10.000 gold.
5) General Code of Conduct
You will never take a real life problem and use it to destroy the mood on the guild channel.
You will never insult, belittle or patronise a fellow member of The Squishies.
You will never question any decision by an Officer or the Guild Master in public.
You will never discuss or question loot issues (be it rolls or designations) in guild chat. This is a bannable offence! Take it up in private with the KoS officer. (how would you feel if you were the winner?)
You will never put the guild in a bad light in any public setting. If you don’t like it, take it up with an officer or leave.
Addendum to the loot rules considering non-class blues
There has been a little confusion to what the word "need" means exactly. We've come to the following definition/sequence:
When an item drops and the roll for need is called, only those who will use this item as a direct upgrade can roll need. This means that if the item that drops is better than the item you currently wear as standard equipment, you can roll need. This is considered primary need. Please be courtious when you know that the person you rolling against has worse gear than you, the guild benefits more from a collection of strongly equipped people than it does from few people who have banked all the stuff.
When you want an item for a specific situation, but not as a direct standard upgrade (crit gear for pvp, shadow resist for scholo/Kazzak, +damage gear for pvp for example), you cannot roll need on the first roll sequence. This is considered secondary need.
when nobody who will use the item as standard equipment rolls need on an item, those who have secondary need can claim need on it, there will be a roll if there are multiple people on secondary need.
Addendum to the Rules of Conduct considering application to other guilds
Everyone has the right to leave the guild whenever they feel like it. However, in the interest of Guild self-preservation we decided to add some consequences to doing so.
Initiates who are discovered to have applied for another guild during their trial period (beit on an alt or a main) will directly be removed from the guild. We have no intention of becoming a waiting room where people can have some stuff and some raids while waiting to be accepted into one of the bigger guilds. We have a 0 tolerance policy on this.
Members who are discovered to have applied for another guild (without our prior knowledge*) will be demoted to initiate, have their forum privileges removed and their EPGP frozen (cannot be spent). A new poll will be set up with the question if we want to give this person another chance (assuming this person will want another chance).
We want people with whom we can build towards a small but powerful guild, capable of doing anything in game. This means that we have to be able to rely, at least somewhat, on every member's dedication. The smaller the guild, the bigger this dependance is. By applying to another guild without telling us, people simply state they are using us as an inbetween and we will have a 0 tolerance on that.
* When you want to switch guilds and let us know beforehand, we will discuss the situation and the above mentioned consequences may not be enforced. This is of course dependant on the result of the discussion.
