Initiate rules and guidelines

Hello and welcome to The Squishies.Joining a new guild can sometimes be a bit confusing. Where to go, what to do, what to download etc. I will try to compile a little list of the most important stuff for you to know.

Squishbait period

You are a squishbait (initiate) for approximately 3 weeks. After a certain amount of time, the members of the guild will vote you in or (hopefully not) out. It is a democratic vote, and the majority rules. During your squishbait period, you are not allowed to spend your SQP (raid points). You do however earn SQP during your squishbait period. If accepted as a Squishie (member) you will then most likely have quite a few points to spend. It is important that you are as much online as you possibly can during your squishbait period because the members are trying to get to know you. A good raid attendance is also very important. Try to aim for a raid attendance of about 80%. If you, for some reason, have to be away for a period of time, write a post on our forums explaining this. If people don't hear from an initiate or see him/her online at all, they will have a hard time voting for someone they haven't even gotten to know. Sign up for our forums, and use it to check for any news, updates or similar. The URL is http://forum.squishies.org

EPGP system

Our EPGP system is our "currency" when dealing with loot and raid attendance for raids. If you want an item, you have to bid on it. Note: Initiates can only use their points when no member bids. You earn EPGP by joining raids, and you can check your current EPGP on this website. For a rough explanation about the EPGP system see: http://code.google.com/p/epgp/. Exact details for the Squishy EPGP version can be found on our forum.

PS: A little note about not being able to spend SQP. You are allowed to get an item if no member wants it. However, you are not allowed to bid your SQP against a member who is allready bidding.

Raiding

  • We raid mondays, wednesdays and fridays, starting at 19:00 pm server time. Zul'Aman and Karazhan raids are usually organized at random.

  • To be able to join a raid, you have to sign up. You sign up for raids on http://raid.squishies.org . You log in with the same username and password which you used for your forum access.

  • Always include information about when you have to leave/if you will be late etc when signing up.

  • Always show up prepared. You will need bandages, potions etc. Nobody is required to give away their hard earned consumables etc to you if you forget. It is your responsibility alone.

  • Even though you might be experienced with an encounter or have a friend of a friend's friend who is an expert, please don't interrupt the raid leader with new tactics unless the raidleader specifically asks for it.

  • Be disciplined! If the raidleader tells you to go to the left to heal a person, you GO to the left and heal a person. If the call for attack has not come yet, you do not attack until it shows up. Always follow the MA's target, unless stated otherwise by the raidleader.

  • Learning new encounters can be frustrating. Do not let your angry/frustrated mood destroy the raid for others. If you want to scream and shout about how useless we are, do not do it on TS, raidchat, guildchat or any other chat that the raidmembers can see. Learning encounters is sadly both time consuming and expensive, but it is the same for everyone. Besides, where is the fun if you don't have any challenges?

  • We ask that everyone install and use CT Raid Assist (or oRA2), Omen Threat Meter and preferably DeadlyBossMods(or BigWigs for that matter). We also use TeamSpeak as our voice communication. Information about the IP to use is found under the Guild Info tab ingame.

Recruitment

If you have a friend, familymember or similar who wants to join the guild as well, please have that person fill in an application on our forums or through the application template on the frontpage. We can't always guarantee a spot for your friends/family, as it depends abit on how many of each class we need etc.

Guild and Guild Chat

Remember that we have members of various ages in our guild. Try to avoid too much swearing, use of caps etc. Also remember that we are all different people, with different backgrounds so avoid any sensitive "jokes" about race, handicaps etc etc. The guildchat and all other chats are strictly in English too unless nobody other than those of your nationality is online. Then you can of course speak the language you want, however switch to English immediately when other people come online.

If you have any questions regarding the guild, any issues you want to raise etc, please try to contact one of us officers or simply ask the other members for advice. There are no dumb questions (except maybe if you ask where Hogger is....), so ask away if there are issues you wonder about not in this guide or in the guildrules.
